But personally, I'd prefer range because they're incredibly good with range xp, which is essentially large meatsacks. Additionally, there are lots of semi-safespots inside the slayer towers that can be used to separate them from.
Since you'll be trying to keep them out of sight (Getting them stuck on blocks, piles of rubble or other debris since they can take up 2 squares) go for your best range of equipment and accessories, such as archer helm/robin, best dragonhide, snakeskin boots/ranger.
For weapon , use magic shortbow or rune crossbow with the arrows/bolts you'd like to use. If you've already completed the Seergaze's legacy and desire the fastest speed of xp, then take a prayer gear and a cannon into the tunnels around the blood altar. Look for the room with altered ones, pray melee to start the cannon, then make sure auto retaliate is on and proceed. The job will be complete within a matter of minutes. It's not cheap money , but it's easily one of the most efficient tasks you can get. Since they're equipped with a large amount of hitpoints, it's also among the best for high xp.
If you go to w67 you can usually get into teams after you've got 100-105. I'ven't played for over 3 months and a lot of this has probably changed. W67 is typically dominated by the s/l...
